2019-2020 SchoolForce Board of Directors

Executive Committee / Members

Alison ten Cate

President
Alison ten Cate

Alison has two daughters, one who attended K-8 in our district (at 3 of our schools) and another currently in 7th grade. She and her family have lived in Redwood Shores and Belmont since 2006. When her older daughter was in Kindergarten and the district was facing severe budget and staffing cuts, Alison and her husband realized just how important SchoolForce is for our children’s educations, and they’ve been supporters ever since.

By getting involved on the SchoolForce Board as the Sandpiper School Chair, Alison was able to really engage with the school community and meet so many wonderful parents in all our schools. Recognizing that our schools are the heart of our community in Belmont and Redwood Shores, Alison is working as President to engage all families in all schools in understanding why we need SchoolForce and working with our fantastic Board to envision the next few years of how we can support excellent education in our schools.

Alison has a professional background in energy and water efficiency with an M.A. from Johns Hopkins University and B.S. from Georgetown University.
