WHO WE ARE

SchoolForce is a non-profit education foundation that raises funds to enhance and sustain an exceptional public education for all TK-8th graders in the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District. Like our neighboring districts, our schools rely on parent support to enrich learning beyond what’s possible with public funds.

SchoolForce is a volunteer-run organization which was founded in 2001. We are governed by a 20+ person volunteer board of directors which partners with our school district and site PTAs to be the only fundraising entity for the seven schools in the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District.  Every day, every student has an enhanced academic experience because of the $3 million raised each year from parents and our community donations to SchoolForce.

We raise the majority of the funds during the Back to School Campaign which runs August 1 – September 30. We also welcome donations throughout  the school year with several other flagship fundraising events:

Giving Tuesday – a time when many employers increase the percentage of their matching giving for employee donations initiated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving

Read-a-thon – a fun way to involve your friends and family in supporting our schools (January)

Annual Auction –  an online auction event in the early spring, with school based activities & fun filled items

We welcome volunteers who give their time and talents as board members, committee members and event volunteers. Last year alone almost 200 volunteers collaborated to reach our goal! Please consider supporting SchoolForce by volunteering in one of our open positions.

SchoolForce is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization (tax ID 91-2159650). All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
