School-Force and the PTA

We ask all parents to become supporting members of both School-Force and their school’s PTA. Both organizations work hard to provide a quality educational experience for our children, but they differ in crucial ways.

School-Force funds teaching personnel and district-wide educational programs. PTA funds class materials, equipment and school-specific programs — but cannot fund salaries. School-Force complements the efforts of your school’s PTA to ensure that your child receives an excellent education in the Belmont-Redwood Shores School District. See the table below which illustrates the relationship between School-Force and the PTA:

School-Force

A non-profit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to enhancing and funding district-wide educational resources, teaching personnel and enrichment programs.

 

PTA

A non-profit, parent/teacher organization that enhances student education through volunteer efforts and school-specific programs.

District-Wide Teaching Personnel & Programs

Reading specialists at every school, 4th & 5th grade science and intrumental music teachers serving all schools, the new elementary writing program, “I am a Writer”, technology equipment and personnel.

 

School-Specific Materials & Programs

Classroom materials, technology equipment, tutoring, visual arts program, vocal music program, recreational equipment, field trips, newsletters, assemblies, parent education.
