When School-Force volunteers created the “I’m in!” campaign slogan in the spring of 2010, the goal was simple: to encourage Belmont and Redwood Shores community members to be Invested, Informed and Involved in their local public schools and raise at least $1 Million by June 30th. It worked. The push that spring more than doubled fundraising from the previous fiscal year, saving critical programs and services for our children, as well as teacher jobs . The campaign also increased knowledge and volunteerism in the community.
The following year, in 2010-11, the Foundation continued to ask the community “Are you in?”, again with an affirmation from the community. Unfortunately, the political landscape has now shifted and a major political a campaign has adopted these catch phrases. Sadly, there won’t be any royalties coming this way.
A foundation whose mission is to raise money for local schools must remain politically neutral. School-Force certainly cannot have an affiliation with presidential politics. So, even as effective as it has been, “ I’m in!” is being phased out. For now, you’ll see the familiar School-Force logo and the well-established “Save-the-Music” and “Reading Power” graphics.
The communications team has some ideas brewing for a new slogan, but we need your input. How School-Force donors answer these questions will help inspire the new tag line:
If you can answer the above questions, and/or have an idea for a new slogan, let us know by emailing or just submitting a comment to this blog. School-Force is an organization for the whole community, so everybody is welcome to brainstorm!
Thank you.

I give because:
– I want to keep quality education in our community
– our kids deserve a quality education and the opportunities that affords
– it’s in investment in our kids’ future and the future of our community
It’s up to us!
I give because:
-it’s still cheaper than private school
-it all begins here in elementary school
-we’re helping our kids build a firm foundation
-you can tell when kids have a quality education…when it really matters (in high school and when they apply to colleges)
-I believe it makes a difference
-I can see it make a difference
-I don’t need more latte’s…I need more kids to have a quality education.
